Privacy Notice

1. What we collect

Photos you upload. When you take or upload a photo of your fridge or countertop, the image is sent to our server and to an AI model solely to identify ingredients and generate recipe ideas. The image is processed in the moment and is not retained by us beyond the request.

Preferences and notes. The mood, meal type, effort level, dietary needs, and notes you enter are sent with the photo to shape the recipes. They are not kept on our servers after the request completes.

Saved recipes. If you bookmark a recipe, it is stored only in your own browser's local storage — on your device — and is never sent to our servers. It disappears if you clear your browser data.

Usage analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate, anonymous usage, including which pages are visited and how often recipes are generated. Google may set cookies and collect information subject to its own privacy policy.

2. Why we use it

Your photo and preferences are used only to generate recipes for that single request. We do not build personal profiles from your submissions, and we do not sell or share your data with third parties for their own marketing.

3. Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and local storage for two purposes: to remember your saved recipes between visits (stored on your device), and for Google Analytics to measure usage. Your browser settings let you block or delete cookies; doing so won't stop Soffritto working, but you'll lose your saved recipes.

4. AI processing

To identify ingredients and suggest recipes, your image and preferences are sent to a third-party AI provider. That provider processes the data only to fulfil our request and returns the generated recipes to us. We do not allow that data to be used to train models on your content.

5. Your choices

• Don't upload it. You can choose not to submit a photo, or to submit one that avoids any identifying items.
• Clear saved recipes. Delete individual saved recipes from the Saved page, or clear your browser's site data to remove them all.
• Opt out of analytics. Analytics cookies are only set if you choose “Accept” in our cookie banner. Decline it and no analytics cookies are stored. You can also clear this site's data in your browser to be asked again, or block cookies for this site.

6. Children

Soffritto is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has used the Service, please contact us.

7. Data retention

We do not keep your photos or preferences after the recipe request is complete. Analytics data is retained by Google according to its retention settings. Saved recipes remain on your device until you delete them.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you. Because we don't retain your submissions, most of these rights are satisfied by the way the Service already works. To exercise any right, contact us at the address below.

We may update this Privacy Notice. The “Last updated” date above reflects the most recent revision. We encourage you to review it periodically.
